Planet Earth, we all live there, unless you’re viewing this in 2100 after we’ve terraformed Mars. Nevertheless, Earth is the place we call home in 2025, and now more than ever, our world could use some TLC (Terra Loving Care).
While everyday life may not be all doom and gloom (though Tottenham Hotspur fans might disagree), the reality is that rising global temperatures are causing Mother Earth to heat up – and in some unfortunate cases, quite literally, burn.
This is why now more than ever, businesses both big and small need to start taking action. In this blog, we’ll discuss the importance of environmental sustainability and share what we at Repeat Digital, along with our environmental initiative partner Ecologi, are doing to make a difference.
Environmental Sustainability
Nothing good lasts forever, but what if you could keep the good times rolling by planting the seeds of tomorrow, today? This isn’t some deep poignant theory on life, but rather a practical approach to tackling climate change. By embracing sustainable practices, we can work towards an endless supply of natural resources, like renewable energy. After all, many of our environmental problems stem from unsustainable practices like mass deforestation, biodiversity loss from overfishing, and plastic pollution. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what we at Repeat Digital have been doing to help mitigate climate change.
Repeat Digital and Ecologi
At Repeat Digital, the only thing that we love more than digital marketing is our planet! That’s why, in 2020, we partnered with environmental organisation Ecologi to support sustainability projects around the world. In that time we’ve been able to help fund the planting of over 682 trees across 15 different projects, including a reforestation project in the Mangrove forests of Marotaola, Madagascar.

We’ve also helped eliminate 34.86 tonnes of C02 from the atmosphere (equivalent to around 3.5 double-decker buses) through carbon avoidance projects, such as the installation of Wind Turbines in Andhra Pradesh, India. This project is helping reduce the local area’s reliance on coal power plants, which are a major energy source for rural areas in India.

Our Commitment to Sustainability
Our commitment to sustainability doesn’t stop with tree planting and wind farms. Back at the Repeat Digital HQ, we’ve also implemented internal changes to reduce our carbon footprint. We’ve adopted a hybrid work model, allowing employees to work remotely for most of the week, which significantly reduces commuting-related emissions (and saves them money). Additionally, we’ve transitioned to predominantly digital communications for in-house meetings, client collaborations, and marketing campaigns – reducing unnecessary travel and waste.

Environmental sustainability? Completed it mate! Unfortunately, unless you are Jay from the Inbetweeners, sustainability isn’t a one-time effort where you pack up and move on to the next thing – it’s an ongoing journey. What matters most is that we all take some responsibility, whether it’s contributing to large-scale projects or making small everyday changes, like improving your recycling habits.
If you’d like to explore the incredible projects we’ve been involved in, check out our Ecologi profile and join us in making a difference. Let’s make our planet a happier, healthier, and greener place for future generations (again, unless you’re already living on Mars).
