Repeat Digital recently took part in the Nottingham Trent University Grads4Nottm scheme – a program that allows University students to take part in two weeks of work experience with local businesses to face real-life challenges. A number of well-known organisations, such as Boots, and many SME’s join with the University every year for this great opportunity for young people about to step into full-time employment.
We challenged film students Christie Ellis and Juliette Johnson to create and edit a number of promotional videos for Repeat Digital to share on social media sites. Each member of the Repeat Digital team had written a script sharing their own ideas and PPC knowledge, and then it was over to Christie and Juliette to direct us from behind the camera. Although there were many bloopers and fits of laughter, each team member did a fantastic job to create some really great videos!
Christie said: “The whole team were extremely friendly towards us the moment we met them which allowed us to feel less nervous. The office environment was very comfortable, welcoming and had a very relaxed atmosphere…Thank you to the whole team at Repeat Digital for an amazing 2 weeks!”
As a company, we had been wanting to create some professional looking content for a while but just didn’t have the time, nor the specialist film production skills. Taking part in this programme was a great way to learn new camera tricks for our future videos as well as give Christie and Juliette to try out new equipment and the skills they’ve learnt over the last three years of their degree.
The majority of the filming was done in the office environment as our videos focus on ‘Top Tips’ of PPC as well as why Repeat Digital is such a great working environment! Although, we couldn’t resist a trip out to the local park for a quick game of rounders – all for professional purposes of course!
Olly said: “As an NTU grad myself, I’m always up for getting involved with the employment team at NTU and giving something back. Graduates have massive amounts to offer businesses, which is why I love getting them involved with Repeat.”
All in all, it was a fantastic experience for everyone involved and we’ll definitely be looking into joining the scheme again next year!
